زبان انگليسي يكي از مهم ترين زبان هاست كه امروزه به زبان دانش جهاني تبديل شده است؛بسياري از مقالات و كتب معتبر با آن منتشر مي شود و در اغلب كنفرانس ها و همايش هاي بين المللي به عنوان زبان اول همايش انتخاب مي شود. كاربرد اين زبان بين المللي تا آنجا افزايش يافته كه تصور طي كردن مدارج عالي علمي بدون آموختن زبان انگليسي دور از ذهن به نظر مي رسد. بنابراين آموزش معماري و بسياري ديگر از رشته هاي تخصصي دانشگاهي منوط به فراگيري زبان انگليسي است.زبان تخصصي معماري در حقيقت مفاهيمي از رشته معماري است كه به زبان انگليسي ارايه مي شود.در كتاب حاضر ،اين موضوع به خوبي رعايت شده،به عبارت ديگر مفاهيم موجود در اين كتاب ،مشتمل بر آموزش هاي مفيدي در حوزه معماري و ديگر گرايش هاي مربوط است كه در قالب متن هاي انگليسي از ساده به مشكل مرتب شده اند.

گستردگي مفاهيم و دامنه لغت ها در گرايش ها مختلف كارشناسي ارشد معماري به قدري زياد است،كه به سختي مي توان مجموعه اي جامع براي تمامي آن ها فراهم كرد.

اين كتاب شامل ۶ فصل است كه در فصل نخست به كلمات پر كاربرد در زبان عمومي و درك و نگارش متن هاي تخصصي اختصاص دارد. بخش دوم كتاب،به واژگان تخصصي معماري مورد نياز كارشناسي مهندسي معماري و تمام گرايش هاي كارشناسي ارشد معماري چون معماري _معماري، معماري _منظر،معماري_مرمت ابنيه و بافت،تكنولوژي معماري،انرژي،مديريت پروژه و ساخت و ديگر حوزه ها و مقوله هاي مربوطه اختصاص دارد.

در بخش سوم،به تصاوير حرفه اي architectural photo dictionary))اختصاص يافته است.

بخش چهارم ،مفاهيم ساختارهاي دستوري و شيوه هاي مختلف ساخت و تركيب كلمات و عبارت ها در حوزه زبان عمومي و تخصصي چون(word building )و(collocation) را مورد بررسي قرار داده است.در بخش پنجم به معرفي واژگان متناظر با مباني نظري معماري و زيبايي شناسي مي پردازد و  بخش پاياني اين كتاب نيز به درك مطلب reading comprehension) )اختصاص دارد.
